1: Doddabetta
Doddabetta
The eminent range of heights that runs north-south in the middle of the plateau reaches its highest point at Doddabetta at about 4 km east southeast of Udhagamandalam. Hecuba, Kattadadu, and Kulkudi are the three closely linked heights west of Doddabetta range and nearby Udhagamandalam. In the Nilgiris plateau, Doddabetta is the highest peak of the Nilgiris district, remarkable for the flattened curve of its summit. Thick woods decorate the hollows of its slopes and offer mesmerizing views.

The Nilgiri Mountain Railway is a railway in Tamil Nadu, built by the British in 1908 and was initially operated by the Madras Railway. The railway relies on its fleet of steam locomotives & NMR comes under the jurisdiction of the newly formed Salem Division. In July 2005, UNESCO added the Nilgiri Mountain Railway as an extension to the World Heritage Site of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway & the site became known as Mountain Railways of India after it satisfied the necessary criteria, thus forcing the abandonment of the modernization plans.

Ooty Lake is perhaps the most popular destination among the tourists who visit Ooty, an artificial lake built by John Sullivan in 1824 and covers an area of 65 acres. The idea was to prepare the lake for fishing by local fishermen. The lake is no longer its original size and has shrunk because of various geographical factors and the construction of a bus stand, a race course, and a lake park. Today the lake is popular among tourists & offers boating facilities. One can enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake by leisurely boating in its calm waters.
 
4: St. Stephens Church
St. Stephens Church
St. Stephen's Church is on the road to Mysore in Ooty & is one of the oldest churches in the Nilgiris district. The church features a pew with a raised chancel. Stained glass paintings are featured on the eastern side and behind the chancel, depicting Mary holding baby Jesus in her arms and the crucifixion of Christ. The entire structure is on a tall, sturdy stool, open on all four sides.
